Summer Days

This is how most of our mornings start out. When Gavin wakes up he comes and crawls in bed with me and Scarlett and we watch some cartoons while we wake up then head downstairs for breakfast. Jordan is so funny he is convinced that Scarlett loves SyFy movies, because she'll actually sit there and watch them haha. I haven't had the heart to tell him she does that with anything that comes on the TV with color lol. 

Gavin and Scarlett playing in her room. We still have to roll up a little blanket to put in front of her so she won't fall forward while she's in that, but she seemed to like it. She had enough of it after 10 minutes though. It was fun to watch them play together though, Gavin is so good with Scarlett. 

Yesterday I took this kids to the new Splash Pad for Gavin's friends birthday. It was Kennedy's 5th birthday and they had cake and fun playing in the water. There was about 10 kids there and it was nice to get out of the house. I wasn't able to take any pictures, boo! And of course the one time we meet up with friends it starts raining for the first time in 3 months lol. It only rained for about 20 minutes so while it was raining we went ahead and cut the cake. We didn't stay too long because it started to get too hot for the baby, but Gavin had a blast. 

When Jordan got home from work we cooked spaghetti. We love to cook together :) while we were cooking Gavin and his friend Nathan played in the sprinkler out in the front. They are so funny at this age I think they decided they weren't friends and then made up about 5 times in 15 minutes haha! We have been cooking our spaghetti without ground beef lately. We started making it with meatballs and Italian sausage and its soo good! Gavin and Jordan love the meatballs and we always double the recipe so we'll have dinner for a couple of nights.

Starting up the blog again! It's going to be a long one...

I started this blog when I was pregnant hoping when I had Scarlett I would keep track of everything she did, but of course everything got so busy with a new baby! I am going to start it up again and hopefully I can stick with it. Scarlett was born on March 28, 2011 at 7:48am via c-section (she was breech). She was 8lbs 7oz and 20 1/2 inches long. She was absolutely perfect and everything I could ever hope for in a baby! Here is a pic of the day she was born.

Now Scarlett is 3 1/2 months old!! I want to keep a blog so that I can look back and show this to the kids one day so I want to write down things that they are doing right now and how I feel about them so they can see it one day.

Gavin you are 5 years old!

You weigh 55 lbs and wear size 5/6 clothing. You are 46 inches tall and wear a size 13 shoe.

You are bigger than most kids and are always the tallest one on your sports teams. You're going to be a great football player one day! lol 

You love to snack and we can't get you to eat an entire meal for anything. 

You LOVE the army. Every day when we get home you run to your room and put on your army costume, put  on your army backpack, and pick up your play gun and head out on a mission. It always looks like a war zone in our house with all the army men and guns all around the house. 

You also love football and can name every team in the NFL on your own! You can't wait to play football you ask at least 3 times a week when you'll get to play. (One more year buddy!) 

You are so independent, you have a great memory, and you are very funny. You are also going through a not listening stage lol your dad and I probably repeat ourselves about 50 times a day, but hey that's part of the wonderful life of parenting. 

You love story time at night! We read to you every night then say our prayers. You have an amazing relationship with God and that has shown so much since you went to SonShine Christian Preschool. You would lead your class in prayer and memorized the most bible versus. You are so smart! 

I can't wait to see how much you grow when you embark on your new journey next month...Kindergarten!

 Scarlett you are almost 4 months old!
At your 2 month check up you weighed 11.8 lbs and were 22 1/2 inches long.
You now weigh about 15 lbs! We will find out exactly how much you weigh and how long you are at your 4 month check up in a couple weeks! 


You are the sweetest baby in the whole world. I spend most of my days just sitting and staring at you. I am so in love with you and I'm just enjoying this time where I can sit and hold you and kiss you all day long (and you'll let me do those things lol)


Everyone says you look just like your daddy and that you do, but you have some of my features too :) You of course have your dads beautiful blue eyes and you got my dimples and toes. Every day you become more and more beautiful. 


You are so content and hardly ever cry unless you're hungry and let me tell you...you LOVE to eat. I am still breastfeeding, but have started to supplement with about 1 bottle a day. 


You still sleep in the bed with us. I have been trying to work with your more with sleeping in the pack n play in our room in the last few weeks. I will put you in there around 9pm, but you usually wake up within a couple of hours to eat then I just let you sleep with me and daddy. You won't be able to sleep in my arms forever so I am just enjoying every day that I can :) 


You are so strong you have been able to stand on your legs while we hold you since you were 2 weeks old. We call it "Big Girl Time" and you love it. You are also always trying to sit up on your own and can hold your head up while you're laying on your stomach. 


You love your brother anytime he is in the room you can't keep your eyes off him and you always smile at him. You also love your daddy so much. You love to play with him and you have him wrapped around your little finger. You are a bit of a momma's girl right now...I think that's every baby, but let me think it's just because you love me so much lol.
